Background    
     
   

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is looking for a motivated and experienced candidate for the position of the Programme and Administrative Assistant.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the supervision of the National Political Dialogue Officer, the incumbent performs the following duties:

  • Provides assistance to the Democratic Political Processes Unit in programmatic and logistical issues;
  • Assist in organization and conduction of trainings on political dialogue and expanding political participation, including preparation of curriculum and evaluation. Assist in preparation of documents and hand-outs for the trainings and workshops, development of presentations. Facilitate discussions and answer questions;
  • Assist in administrative preparation of the official visits and events. Compiles background material and draft papers for seminars and trainings;
  • Assist in preparation and conduction of meetings with the stakeholders; Attends relevant meetings, relevant thematic working groups, roundtables, workshops, conferences and other events; prepares relevant records on the events attended;
  • Assist local and international consultants on administrative and logistical matters;
  • Drafts required correspondence and reports within the assigned areas of responsibility;
  • Drafts contributions to activity, background reports, and other meetings of relevance;
  • Organizes data and information, prepares and maintains records and documents;
  • On a regular basis, follows the media closely and provides summaries on political dialogue related issues to the supervisor;
  • Travels to other regions for programme implementation and monitoring of the events;
  • Performs other analytical and administrative tasks as required by supervisor.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Completion of secondary education supplemented by higher education courses in international relations, law, political or social sciences;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in working on youth related issues, with established organizational skills;
  • Experience in conduction of the trainings related to the political dialogue and youth political participation;
  • Strong administrative and logistical support skills;
  • Communication skills (establish and maintain contact with project partners, NGOs, governmental officials);
  • Knowledge  of international democracy standards as well as the legal system of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • Computer literate with practical experience in Window and Microsoft applications;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Russian and knowledge of Tajik language will be an asset;
  • Ability to work under time pressure and with tight deadlines;
  • Ability to travel to the field;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
     
Remuneration Package    
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 631.67 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the medical insurance scheme.
