Tajikistan is a Central Asian country with its own culture, traditions and customs built during over the several thousand years. Information about local culture, customs and expectations perceived about a country prior to arrival may be different to how things really are on the ground. One should be prepared to change the views on specific cultures, especially in places, where society assigns majority of an authority and power to men. The crime considered in the capital city Dushanbe, like in any other Megalopolis in the world, has the same approach towards men and women. There are some stories and incidents in the region that in reality no woman should ignore. Although it's easy to think such a crime will never happen to you, the choices you make each day could make you the target of one or more sordid individuals. The OSCE POiD Security Unit has an idea to provide training for POiD female colleagues physical protection techniques. Therefore the Security Unit aims to recruit an Expert/Trainer who will organize trainings reflecting the most important aspects of physical protection and self-defence. Cover all related measures and elements of the physical protection, describing them theoretically and presenting tangibly/practically. Speak about the most likely risks may a female encounter during the everyday work as well as awareness on what steps should be taken before, during and after physical violence. Objective: The Security Unit therefore requires the services of an experienced Expert/Trainer to organize a wide-ranging Training on Female Security, which would allow the OSCE POiD female staff to better raise awareness on the possible risks and acquire some elementary self-defence techniques in practice. |

Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
The Expert/Trainer will be tasked to prepare on 25th of July 2018 and to produce on 26 and 27 of July 2018, an interactive training on Female and Security with the duration of 3 hours, at least to cover the following issues:
Expected Output/Deliverables: Provision of practical training on inter alia: Home/Street/Hotel/Work security Verbal harassment; Attempt to rob; Attempt to rape; Physical assault on the street; Physical assault in the narrow space; Delivery of the aforementioned lessons: 14.00 – 17.00 on 26 July 2018 in Russian 14.00 – 17.00 on 27 July 2017 in English; (Interpreter will be provided) Drafting and preparation of appropriate exercises, including presentation of materials and delivery practical drills. Duration of contract: Duration of contract is three days – 25-27 July 2018, one preparation day and two days to conduct the training. |

Remuneration Package | ||
The consultant will be remunerated commensurate with consultant’s experience and qualifications in accordance with OSCE established rates. Applicants should indicate whether they wish to be included in the OSCE Roster of Consultants for similar assignments. |
