OSCE missions and field activities are the front line of the OSCE's work in countries that require assistance and are the agent through which political decisions are translated into action. Each mission has a different mandate, but generally the work addresses early warning, preventive diplomacy, conflict management and post-conflict rehabilitation.
The primary task of the OSCE Mission to Moldova is to facilitate a lasting political settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict. Besides the political status negotiations, its activities cover a broad spectrum of issues, including democratic transformation, human rights, minority issues, combating trafficking in human beings and military security. The Mission is staffed by a team of 13 international and 39 local employees. |

| Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
|
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission and in close co-operation with the Department for Management and Finance and the Department for Human Resources at the OSCE Secretariat, the incumbent leads the FAU and is responsible for the overall planning, development, management and delivery of a diverse range of management, administrative, and financial support services required by the mission to fulfil its mandate. These support services include human resources, budget, finance, procurement, general services, information and communication technology.
In approving administrative actions she/he must ensure that they are taken and implemented in accordance with the Common Regulatory Management System (CRMS) of the OSCE and within budget allotments and available resources. The incumbent serves as principal adviser to the Head of the Mission, on all resource management and support aspects of Mission's activities; acts as the focal point for the co-ordination of administrative support and oversight with the OSCE Secretariat. | Remuneration Package | ||
|
Monthly remuneration subject to social security deductions is about USD 3,872 to which is added Board and Lodging Allowance (currently EUR 112 per day subject to change without prior notice). Social benefits will include possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
Appointments are made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. |
