Background    
     
   

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced Ukrainian professional for the position of Nurse in the main office in Kyiv.

Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under direct supervision of the SMM’s Medical Officer, the incumbent performs following duties:

  1. Provide Primary Health Care cover to Mission Members and report all findings directly to the Mission Medical Officer;
  2. Assess the condition of Mission Members who are injured or taken ill suddenly, then decide what action is needed and initiates treatment;
  3. Assist the SMM Local Paramedics with any emergency cases at point of injury/onset of illness;
  4. Assist during medical evacuation and repatriation of Mission Members as a result of accidents, sudden illnesses or epidemics;
  5. Perform basic medical examinations, routine check–ups and relevant immunisation;
  6. Refer Mission Members to appropriate medical facilities/practitioners and follow-up actions on each medical case. This includes referrals also in cases of trauma or abuse;
  7. Uphold professional and technical knowledge by methods such as continued professional development, attending training courses, self-directed study etc.;
  8. Ensure that all medical information and documentation are recorded, stored and kept in a confidential manner; prepare statistical reports on completed activities and plans future actions;
  9. Maintain nursing supplies/stock levels and rotation; recording all supplies/stock (including expiry date and batch number) for accuracy and audit purposes; recommends purchase of medical equipment and supplies;
  10. Organize with professional trainers courses to deal with medical emergencies;
  11. Actively support a cooperative relationship between colleagues by communicating information, responding to requests and developing team cohesion;
  12. Perform any other duty as assigned.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
  • Completed secondary education supplemented by a diploma of certified nurse by a recognized institution;
  • At least 6 years of experience of working in a Medical practice or Hospital preferably in an international set-up;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in life savings techniques and established experience in using medical equipment used for testing;
  • Professional fluency in English, Russian and Ukrainian languages;
  • Established ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical issues discussed or recorded in medical files;
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft packages and other medical software;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license.

Remuneration Package    
     
    Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1176.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
