Background information

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (OSCE PCU) supports Ukraine’s reforms and covers a wide array of activities, such as constitutional reform, legal and criminal justice reform; human rights and legal education; dialogue as a tool to deal with crises and implement reforms; psychological and social rehabilitation of crisis-affected people; the fight against cybercrime and human trafficking; mine action and democratic control of the security sector; environmental protection; border security; media freedom; elections; good governance; and gender equality.

The vacancy of the photographer/videographer is issued for the purpose of enlarging the OSCE PCU experts’ roster. Successful applicants with relevant skills and qualifications will be included in the mentioned roster with the possibility of being contacted, if services are required.

Please note that these will be short-term consultancy assignments for a period of several days. The expert will work in places of filming, with the possibility to travel within Ukraine if necessary. It is expected that the expert will use his/her own photo/video equipment to perform tasks.

 

Task

The expert will work under the supervision of a Project Officer, designated by the OSCE PCU and will carry out the following tasks:

  • photography during thematic events, portraits of key players, photoreports on issues of special importance (the photographs will be used for texts' illustration on the official website, in brochures, reports, and other resources);
  • elaboration of scenarios of photo shooting and short video stories;
  • photo shooting, capturing high resolution images according to the developed scenarios;
  • creation of short video stories based on the scenarios previously elaborated.

 

Necessary Qualifications:

  • university degree, preferably in film directing, art, design;
  • minimum 2 years of experience in photography, film-making, editing and production proved by an extensive own portfolio;
  • advanced knowledge and skills to use photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, LightRoom);
  • experience in  drafting scenarios for photo and video shootings;
  • collaboration experience with international organisations would be an asset;
  • understanding of risks associated with working in conflict-affected areas and readiness to take them, if needed;
  • knowledge of English would be an asset;
  • portfolio of previous works should be available online.

 

Remuneration Package:

According to the OSCE PCU consultancy fees guidelines.
