OSCE Missions and Field Activities are the front line of OSCE work in countries that require assistance and are the agent through which political decisions are translated into action. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field mission. The Mission’s current activities focus on police development, strengthening of domestic government institutions, strengthening the rule of law and media development and further implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement. |

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|

|
|
|
|
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Rule of Law Officer and overall guidance of the Chief of Rule of Law Unit (ROLU) / Human Dimension Department (HDD), the incumbent provides programmatic, linguistic and administrative support. More specifically, the incumbent:
- Participates in ROLU/HDD cluster-project formulation (including budget), commenting on pertinent issues and coordinates as directed;
- Assists in the implementation of activities of the cluster-projects and organizes activities foreseen in the project proposals, including trainings, seminars/roundtables and other support for the events;
- Assists in coordinating with partners, soliciting their input, sending feedback, maintaining regular operational monitoring and other various task stemming from the implementation of the cluster projects;
- Assists in monitoring ROLU/HDD cluster projects, including updating the relevant Planning and Monitoring tools;
- Enters Purchase Requisitions (PRs) in the IRMA system and performs regular follow-up to ensure they are promptly approved in the system; follows up with different FAU divisions on the status of PR/PO, with vendors to receive the invoice for the payment, reviews reports to monitor the status of the funds utilisation, maintains up to date knowledge of status of funds related to the specific activity and keeps supervisor informed;
- Assists in conducting Trial Monitoring of selected sessions as necessary;
- Performs consecutive interpretation during meetings, interviews and conferences;
- Translates and summarises legal documents, reports, assessments and official correspondence received;
- Participates in meetings, workshops and other events as tasked and prepares minutes or reports; attends events in line with the work plan outlined in the project proposals;
- Performs other tasks as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications |
|

|
- Citizenship of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
- Secondary education supplemented by formal studies in law, languages, project management or administration
- Minimum 4 (four) years of relevant experience working in rule of law or human rights, as well as demonstrable experience in project management
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft applications and other computer systems (ORACLE and IRMA)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Macedonian. Knowledge of other languages of the region would be an asset
- Demonstrable ability to translate and interpret consecutively
- Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity.

Remuneration Package |
|
|

|
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 1,360.41.
Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund.
Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
