Background

Since 2015, the Mission, within the interfaith dialogue process, has organised Youth Summer camps involving participants from different religious communities and Youth CSOs to discuss diversity in religion and belief, providing a rich opportunity for intercultural understanding. Between 24th and 28th July 2017, the mission will organise the Youth summer camp gathering 40 participants (from 18 to 26 years of age), creating a space for discussion on how youth can play a role in preventing discrimination on the basis of religious belief. It also presents an opportunity for youth from different religious backgrounds to plan and implement common projects/actions to counter Violent Extremism and Radicalism Leading to Terrorism (VERLT) and religious conflict in their communities. Participants will obtain a deeper understanding of other religions and a chance to explore numerous inter-connections between them. The activity is grounded on past experience, which shows that youth camps have indeed helped promote dialogue and tolerance between youth and have largely been welcomed.

The youth camp will be designed in a way that lets the participant express and design concrete proposals and actions that can be implemented in the future within the interfaith dialogue process in Kosovo.

Since the Mission does not possess the necessary expertise in facilitation through a non-formal education methodology , two national experts shall be hired to facilitate the Activity 3.1 - Kosovo-wide Youth Summer Camp on promotion of cultural and religious diversities and inter-faith dialogue (July).
